the fine print
Privacy
Signal over noise applies to your data too. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how to opt out — in plain English.

The short version
The Cache is a newsletter, blog, and course. The only personal data we ask for is your email address, and only so we can send you the newsletter. We don’t sell it, we don’t rent it, and you can leave any time.
What we collect
- Your email address — when you subscribe through any of the signup forms on this site.
- Anonymous usage data — aggregate page views and performance metrics, so we can tell what’s worth writing and keep the site fast.
Email & the newsletter
Subscriptions are handled by beehiiv, our email provider, which stores your address and sends the issues on our behalf. We use your email only to send The Drop and related updates about The Cache — never for anything else. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you immediately.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to measure traffic and page performance. These are privacy-friendly and aggregate: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no selling of your activity to advertisers.
Spam protection
Our signup forms include a hidden field that only automated bots fill in. If you’re a person, you’ll never see it and it never collects anything about you.
What we don’t do
No selling or renting your data, no advertising networks, and no third-party trackers beyond the analytics named above.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email. To ask what we hold or to have your details deleted, reach out on GitHub or X and we’ll take care of it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above. Continued use of the site means you’re good with the current version.
